Key Takeaways
- ✓IHG leads PrideShow's Inclusion Index at 96 — the highest of any multinational on the index — with five global hotel groups in the Platinum tier.
- ✓Hospitality scores so high because big global groups run dozens of Thai properties (max Thailand presence) plus global Pride/ERG programs and international ESG frameworks.
- ✓Among Thai SET-listed hospitality, Laguna Resorts & Hotels leads the PrideShow ESG Score at 77 (Gold) — a separate methodology from the multinational Inclusion Index.
When PrideShow built its annual ranking of how companies in Thailand perform on LGBTQ+ inclusion, one sector rose above every other multinational on the board: hotels and resorts. The global hotel groups that run Thailand's best-known properties don't just place well — they occupy the very top of PrideShow's Inclusion Index.
That makes for the strongest story in the whole ranking. Below we break it into two clearly separate groups, because PrideShow scores them on two different scales: global hotel groups (multinationals) on the PrideShow Inclusion Index, and Thailand's SET-listed hospitality companies on the PrideShow ESG Score. They are never merged — different methodologies, different numbers.
96
IHG's PrideShow Inclusion Index score
The highest of any multinational on the entire index — and a hotel group leads the board.
Global hotel & resort groups: the PrideShow Inclusion Index
The PrideShow Inclusion Index scores global multinationals operating in Thailand from 0 to 100 and sorts them into Platinum, Gold and Silver tiers. Here are the global hotel and resort groups, ranked exactly as they appear on the index.
| Company | Inclusion Index | Tier |
|---|---|---|
| IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) | 96 | Platinum |
| Accor | 94 | Platinum |
| Marriott International | 94 | Platinum |
| Hilton Worldwide | 89 | Platinum |
| Hyatt Hotels | 89 | Platinum |
| Capella Hotel Group | 57 | Silver |
| Shangri-La Group | 55 | Silver |
| Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts | 53 | Silver |
| Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts | 52 | Silver |
| Absolute Hotel Services | 48 | Silver |
| The Peninsula Hotels | 48 | Silver |
| Rosewood Hotels & Resorts | 47 | Silver |
Five groups sit in the Platinum tier — IHG at 96, Accor and Marriott International both at 94, and Hilton Worldwide and Hyatt Hotels both at 89. A cluster of Silver-tier groups follows, led by Capella Hotel Group at 57 and Shangri-La Group at 55.
Why hotels score so high
The Inclusion Index weights five things: a company's Thailand presence, its alignment with international ESG frameworks, its DEI leadership, its audit and disclosure record, and its scale. Big global hotel groups are unusually strong on all of them at once.
- Thailand presence: the major global groups run dozens of Thai properties, which maxes out the presence signal.
- Global Pride and ERG programs: these groups carry company-wide employee resource groups and Pride initiatives that show up in the DEI leadership weighting.
- International ESG frameworks: the same groups are aligned with the international reporting frameworks the index rewards.
IHG shows what a maximal profile looks like. At 96 overall, its sub-scores read: Thailand presence 100/100, international frameworks 100/100, DEI leadership 100/100, and audit & disclosure 75/100 — the highest audit and disclosure score of any multinational on the index. Accor and Marriott follow at 94, with Hilton and Hyatt at 89.
Two scales, never mixed
Global hotel groups are rated on the PrideShow Inclusion Index (0–100). Thai SET-listed hospitality companies are rated on the PrideShow ESG Score (0–100). They use different methodologies, so a number on one scale should never be compared directly to a number on the other.
Thai SET-listed hospitality: the PrideShow ESG Score
Thailand's own publicly listed hospitality companies are scored on the PrideShow ESG Score, which looks at signals such as non-discrimination policy, supply-chain diversity, community investment, and reporting. Here are the SET-listed hospitality companies, ranked as they appear.
| Company | ESG Score | Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Laguna Resorts & Hotels | 77 | Gold |
| Central Plaza Hotel (Centara) | 51 | Silver |
| The Erawan Group | 51 | Silver |
| Grande Asset Hotels and Property | 46 | Silver |
| Veranda Resort | 46 | Silver |
Laguna Resorts & Hotels leads this group with a Gold-tier ESG Score of 77. Central Plaza Hotel (Centara) and The Erawan Group follow at 51, with Grande Asset Hotels and Property and Veranda Resort at 46 — all in the Silver tier.
What an LGBTQ+ traveller can take from this
Thailand — and Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya and Chiang Mai in particular — is one of Asia's leading destinations for LGBTQ+ travellers, and PrideShow's flagship event PrideShow 2026 takes place in Bangkok. These scores give travellers a research-grounded read on which hotel companies have built inclusion into how they operate, at the corporate level.
Read it as a company signal
A high Inclusion Index or ESG Score reflects the inclusion posture of the company behind a brand — its policies, frameworks, DEI leadership and disclosure. Use it as a starting filter when choosing where to stay, alongside your own research on the specific property and city.
An honest note on methodology
These are research-grade corporate-inclusion signals. For multinationals, the Inclusion Index weighs Thailand presence, international ESG frameworks, DEI leadership, and audit and disclosure (plus scale); for Thai SET-listed companies, the ESG Score weighs non-discrimination policy, supply-chain diversity, community investment and reporting. They rate a company's inclusion posture — not a guarantee about the service any individual guest will receive at any individual property.
Both groups are drawn from PrideShow's directory, where the scores are published in full. The two tables above reproduce the global hotel-group and Thai SET-listed hospitality rankings exactly as they stand in 2026.
