“Inclusion is not a metropolitan luxury — the dividend matters most on the factory floor.”— PrideShow Editorial Board
Betagro is not where most inclusion stories are set. The integrated agro-industrial group — animal feed, livestock, poultry, processed and pet food — employs more than 30,000 people across operations that are industrial, rural, and far from the rainbow-lit shopping floors of Bangkok. That is precisely why its place in this ranking matters.
Following Thailand's Marriage Equality Act, Betagro extended same-sex partner medical and welfare benefits across its entire group workforce, and its 56-1 One Report documents an equal-opportunity employment policy explicitly covering sexual orientation and gender identity. Its anti-harassment grievance mechanism names LGBTQ+ inclusion directly, with a group-wide whistleblower channel. Some of this is customer-driven — global QSR and EU retail buyers increasingly require supplier code-of-conduct adherence on workplace non-discrimination — but the effect is the same: protections reaching workers who rarely feature in DEI narratives.
In the ESG Index, Betagro demonstrates that inclusion is not a metropolitan luxury. The marriage-equality dividend is most meaningful exactly where Betagro applied it — at scale, on the factory floor.
