“A right that exists in statute but not in administrative practice is not yet a right.”— PrideShow Editorial Board
The Asia Foundation works in Thailand on governance, rule of law, women's empowerment and inclusive development — the institutional layer beneath the services other organisations deliver.
Rights that exist in statute but not in administrative practice are a recurring Thai problem, and the Marriage Equality Act has made it concrete: implementation depends on registrars, hospitals, employers and courts interpreting a new law consistently. Governance-focused organisations are the ones working on that translation.
Sixth at 70 points. This is unglamorous work whose results appear years later in other organisations' outcomes, which is exactly why it is under-funded relative to service delivery.
